Kishtwar: A fresh military operation against militants has started in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district on Wednesday during an ongoing search operation, officials said.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Observer that the operation began in the Dichaar locality after armed forces launched a cordon-and-search operation based on intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
Reinforcements have been rushed to the spot to tighten the cordon, and the operation was underway when last reports came in.
Earlier, armed forces killed two militants in a separate encounter in Udhampur district, officials said. (KNO)
