Two militants were killed in a military operation during a joint operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on Sunday, officials said.
The operation, codenamed Trashi-I, was launched following intelligence inputs shared by the Intelligence Bureau, Jammu and Kashmir Police and other agencies regarding the presence of militants in the area.
According to officials, troops of the White Knight Corps, working alongside the police and the Central Reserve Police Force, established contact with the militants and re-engaged them around 11 am in difficult terrain in Kishtwar.
After an exchange of fire, two militants were killed. Armed forces also recovered war-like stores, including two AK-47 rifles, officials said.
The area has been cordoned off, and search operations are continuing to rule out the presence of additional militants.
