Srinagar: In the fifth episode of the ongoing Ramadan series, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq highlighted that fasting during the holy month is not limited to abstaining from food and drink but extends to controlling one’s speech and behaviour.
In his address, the Mirwaiz stressed that true fasting requires restraint from harsh words, ridicule, anger, and negative conduct. He said Ramadan serves as a spiritual training period that calls believers back to dignity, patience, and refinement of character.
“Guard your tongue, refine your character, and let this month cleanse not only your fast but your speech,” he said, underscoring the importance of ikhlaq (moral conduct) and social responsibility.
The episode is part of a broader Ramadan message series focusing on self-discipline, ethical behaviour, and strengthening community bonds during the sacred month.
The message has resonated widely on social media, with many viewers sharing reflections on the importance of respectful speech and personal accountability throughout Ramadan.
