JKBOSE revises syllabus for Class 11, 12; no change for 9, 10

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Thursday issued a notification detailing the syllabi and courses of study for Classes 9 to 12 for the upcoming academic sessions, announcing minor revisions for higher secondary classes while keeping the secondary curriculum unchanged.

According to the notification, there will be no change in the syllabi for Classes 9 and 10 for the Academic Session 2025-26 in the Kashmir Division and the Winter Zone areas of the Jammu Division. The same will apply for the Academic Session 2026-27 in the Summer Zone areas of the Jammu Division.

For higher secondary classes, the board has introduced minor revisions in the syllabi of specific subjects. For Class 11, the revised subjects are Punjabi and Physical Education. For Class 12, revisions have been made in the syllabi for Education and Environmental Science.

JKBOSE stated that question papers for Regular and Fresh Private candidates appearing in the annual examinations will be set according to the revised syllabi. This will be applicable for exams scheduled in October-November 2026 for the Kashmir Division and Winter Zone areas of Jammu, and for exams in February-March 2027 for the Summer Zone areas of Jammu Division.

The board has made the updated syllabi available on its official website for students and stakeholders. Officials stated that the move is intended to ensure clarity and uniformity in academic courses for the upcoming sessions. (KNS)
