Bakery kit distribution reaches 560+ families across Kashmir

This year’s distribution saw an approximate 15% increase from last year, says association
Srinagar: Ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Kashmir Bakers Confectioners Association (KBCA) distributed over 560 bakery kits among underprivileged families across the Valley during Ramadan.The three-phase drive included 255 kits in the first phase, 155 in the second and 150 in the third, marking a 15% increase from last year.

Speaking to the media, KBCA president Shahid Hussain Mir, accompanied by other office bearers, said the association has consistently engaged in social service, with its constitution encouraging support for the needy during difficult times, natural disasters and major occasions like Eid.

He said this year’s distribution saw an approximate 15% increase from last year, with over 560 bakery kits distributed in three phases: 255 in the first, 155 in the second and 150 in the third.

Mir added that while such efforts are usually not publicised, the initiative was highlighted to encourage wider community participation. “Kashmiris have always been at the forefront of charitable activities, be it in healthcare, education or during crises,” he said.

He also urged bakery owners to maintain good conduct, ensure quality products and follow official guidelines, while appealing to consumers to report grievances through the contact numbers on rate lists.

Among those present were senior advisors Umar Mukhtar and Atta Mohammad, General Secretary Bilal Ahmad Khan, Senior Vice President Javaid Ahmad Khan, Vice President Humayun Yousuf Jan, Additional General Secretary Ashiq Hussain Bhat, Treasurer Syed Ayoub Sofi and organiser Ejaz Ahmad Sofi.
