IHRO dissolves JK chapter board over irregularities, disputes

The International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO) has dissolved the entire board and management team of its Jammu and Kashmir chapter with immediate effect, citing complaints of unprofessional conduct and administrative lapses.

In an official statement, IHRO said the decision followed multiple allegations, including internal disputes, self-claims, and instances of dual leadership that affected the functioning and credibility of the chapter.

The organisation also flagged poor coordination and lack of professional management practices among board members as key reasons behind the move, stating that the existing structure had broken down. As a result, all positions, designations and roles within the chapter have been revoked.

While all registered members will continue as general members of IHRO, the body has suspended all activities, events and programmes of the Jammu and Kashmir chapter until further notice. It warned that any violation would invite strict legal action, including a lifetime ban from the organisation.

IHRO said it remains committed to transparency and accountability and will take steps to restructure and strengthen its presence in the region.
