Srinagar: The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has forecast a spell of unsettled weather across Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days, with light to moderate rain and gusty winds expected at several places.

According to the forecast, May 1 will remain largely dry, with a brief spell of light rain possible at isolated locations during the afternoon. On May 2, scattered areas may witness light rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds.

The weather is expected to turn more active on May 3 and 4, with generally cloudy conditions and one or two spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at most places. Thunder, hailstorms and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph are likely at a few locations.

Light rain or thundershowers may continue at scattered places on May 5, while the period from May 6 to 9 is expected to remain largely dry, although brief afternoon showers at isolated places cannot be ruled out. Similar isolated rain activity is likely on May 10 and 11.

The MET Centre has issued an advisory asking farmers to suspend farm operations between May 3 and 5 in view of the expected adverse weather conditions.
