Albino buffaloes in Bangladesh that bear an uncanny resemblance to global leaders have gone viral ahead of Eid al-Adha, attracting huge crowds at cattle farms near Dhaka, international media reported. The viral trend has sparked global attention.
One such buffalo, weighing around 700kg, has been nicknamed “Donald Trump” because of its pink skin and golden hair, which visitors say resemble the US president’s distinctive appearance. The animal, housed at a farm in Narayanganj, has become a major attraction, with people flocking daily to take photos.
“When I saw its pictures on Facebook, it immediately reminded me of Donald Trump,” a visitor was quoted as saying by Prothom Alo newspaper, adding humorously that the buffalo’s calm and gentle nature was unlike the former US president.
Owner Ziauddin Mridha said the buffalo was purchased from a cattle market about 10 months ago and was jokingly named by his younger brother after noticing its hairstyle. He added that albino buffaloes are generally peaceful unless provoked.
The animal has reportedly been sold at Tk550 per kilogram and is expected to be delivered to its new owner before Eid.
Another albino buffalo at a Narayanganj farm has been named after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu because of its appearance and aggressive behaviour. Weighing over 750kg, the buffalo is said to have a combative temperament, with farm workers claiming it often snorts and attempts to attack them during feeding.
A manager at the SS Cattle Farm described the animal as “mischievous and cunning,” adding that all six albino buffaloes at the farm are temperamental, Independent reported. The unusual animals have continued to draw large numbers of curious visitors every day.
