Baramulla: Armed forces apprehended three persons allegedly trying to cross the Line of Control (LoC) into Pakistan-administered Kashmir in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Sunday.
The three, all from Sopore in Baramulla district, were intercepted on Saturday night in the Hathlanga-Nambla area while reportedly attempting to cross the border. Officials said one of the detained person is believed to be a former Territorial Army personnel.
In a separate incident, the same Army unit detained a man from Pakistan-administered Kashmir who allegedly crossed the LoC into the Valley through the Silikote area of Uri.
The man, identified as Zeeshan Mir from Muzaffarabad, told authorities he had crossed the border to meet his girlfriend in Tileai village, officials said.
Mir and the woman are currently being questioned by security agencies. Further details are awaited.
