A trainer aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force crashed on Monday, resulting in the deaths of both pilots on board.
Preliminary information suggests that the aircraft was carrying out a routine training mission when it went down near Mardan in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The pilots who lost their lives have been identified as Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah of the Pakistan Air Force and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi of the Pakistan Navy.
Air Headquarters has ordered a board of inquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and determine its cause.
Field Marshal Asim Munir, the chiefs of Pakistan’s armed services and personnel across the Pakistan Armed Forces expressed deep sorrow over the incident and conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.
