Two cloudbursts trigger flash floods in Doda’s Bhalessa, roads blocked
Doda: Two cloudbursts struck the Kalalgisar and Seru areas of Bhalessa in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Wednesday following heavy rainfall, triggering flash floods, blocking roads and disrupting connectivity to several villages.
Officials said there were no reports of casualties. However, the flash floods carried large amounts of debris onto roads, cutting off access to parts of the Bhalessa belt.
Authorities said continuous rainfall has increased the risk of landslides and further road blockages, and the situation is being closely monitored. Road clearance and restoration work will begin once weather conditions improve.
The administration has advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas, remain alert and follow official advisories until normal connectivity is restored.
Officials are also assessing any damage to property and infrastructure.
