Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding: Inside the star-studded celebration
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reportedly celebrated their wedding with a lavish, star-studded reception at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Friday, attended by celebrities from the worlds of music, film and sport. According to multiple reports, music legend Paul McCartney performed the Beatles classic I Want to Hold Your Hand, while singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks also took the stage during the private celebration.
The event reportedly drew around 1,000 guests, making it one of the biggest celebrity gatherings of the year. Reuters reported that preparations began days in advance, with heightened security, temporary street closures and extensive decorations transforming the iconic venue into a garden-themed setting. A rehearsal gathering for close friends and family was reportedly held on July 2, ahead of the main celebration on July 3.
According to TMZ, actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony and performed an original song written for the couple. The ceremony reportedly featured live string music, with Jason and Kylie Kelce’s daughters serving as flower girls. Swift was said to have walked down the aisle to a string rendition of one of her own songs.
TMZ also reported that Swift and Kelce wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture outfits, with Swift in a gown featuring a long train and Kelce in a white tuxedo. The reception reportedly featured décor inspired by Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz, carnival-style games and food catered by Zero Bond.
The guest list reportedly included Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Jack Antonoff, Alana Haim, Ellie Goulding, Zoë Kravitz, Dakota Johnson, Jennifer Lawrence, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Hugh Grant, Ethan Hawke, Jason Sudeikis and Lena Dunham. Among the sports personalities present were Patrick Mahomes, Brittany Mahomes, Jason Kelce, Kylie Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid, George Kittle, Chris Jones, Cooper Kupp, Erin Andrews and Abby Wambach. Family members and close friends, including Donna Kelce and Abigail Anderson, were also reportedly in attendance.
McCartney and Swift have shared a longstanding mutual admiration. The two appeared together on the cover of Rolling Stone in 2020 and have publicly praised each other’s work over the years.
Most recently, Swift reshared an Instagram post by McCartney promoting his new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane. In her June 2 post, she described the Beatles icon as an “eternally exceptional artist” and said she was “never not inspired” by him.
Her tribute followed an interview with BBC Sounds in which McCartney was asked whether he had any advice for Swift on coping with global fame.
“You do see the parallel, you know the fame and the amount of fame,” McCartney said. “The worldwide fame that Taylor Swift has and that we had, but I don’t think she needs any advice, to tell you the truth,” he added with a laugh.
He also said he would “definitely” be happy to offer advice if Swift ever asked for it.
The Beatles legend attended one of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts at Wembley Stadium in London in June 2024, shortly after celebrating his 82nd birthday. Swift later returned the gesture by attending McCartney’s intimate concert at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on March 28 this year.
Neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed details of the wedding or the reported performances. The accounts are based on reports by People, Reuters, TMZ and other entertainment outlets.
