Srinagar: Srinagar police have successfully traced and recovered three missing minor girls from Amritsar, Punjab, within 72 hours of their disappearance, officials said on Thursday.
In a statement, the police said that the recovery was made in connection with FIR 63/2026 registered under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at police station Ram Munshi Bagh, Srinagar.
According to police, acting promptly on the complaint, an intensive investigation was launched, and vital leads regarding the whereabouts of the girls were developed. A dedicated police team was immediately deputed to Punjab.
With the active support and close coordination of the Punjab Police, all three minors were safely traced and recovered from Amritsar within 72 hours.
Officials said the recovered girls are being brought back to Srinagar. Necessary legal formalities will be completed, and further investigation will be carried out as per the law.
