JK Govt approves Rs 18.60 crore for three heritage conservation projects
Jammu: The government has approved three heritage conservation projects worth ₹18.60 crore in Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at restoring historic sites and promoting heritage-led tourism across the Union Territory.
The projects include ₹6.86 crore for the restoration and revival of heritage structures at Uttervehini in Samba, ₹6.50 crore for the repair, renovation and beautification of Basohli Fort in Kathua, and ₹5.24 crore for the revival of the Yatri Niwas and beautification of the Nallah Soundbrari spring in Anantnag.
The initiatives are intended to preserve J&K’s historical and cultural heritage while improving these sites as tourism destinations and creating new opportunities for heritage-based tourism in the region.
