New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday released the provisional answer keys for 84 subjects of the UGC-NET June 2026 examination.

Candidates can challenge the provisional answer keys from August 16 to August 18 until 11:59 pm. A processing fee of Rs 200 will be charged for each question challenged, with the payment window also closing at 11:59 pm on August 18.

For the remaining three subjects — English, Commerce and Sociology — the NTA has set up a committee to examine complaints related to errors in the question papers. A separate public notice will be issued later on Sunday based on the committee’s recommendations.

The agency advised candidates to refer only to information available on its official website and verified social media accounts.

The UGC-NET is conducted to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor positions and admission to PhD programmes. The examination comprises two papers, with Paper I containing 50 questions on areas such as teaching aptitude, reasoning and general awareness, while Paper II has 100 subject-specific multiple-choice questions.

Meanwhile, candidates appearing for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 can also access the provisional answer key and submit challenges. The NTA said the challenge window will remain open from August 16 to August 18 until 11 pm.

The Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 examination was held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode on July 17 and 18. The examination is conducted to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor appointments and admission to PhD programmes at institutions across the country.
