Five people were killed and two others were wounded when a speeding bus, in connection with a Chhathiyar ceremony, ran over a crowd, watching an orchestra performing during the event in West Champaran of Bihar, as reported by Hindustan Times.
In the unfortunate incident, which happened late Friday night in Lauriya’s Bankatwa village, spectators were enjoying performace on the roadway while witnessing the orchestra programme.
The bus was on its way from Gorakhpur to Bettiah when it went out of control, hitting the crowd and Killing two at the spot. The police reported that other three injured succumbed to their injuries later at the district hospital in the locality.
It was reported that the driver perhaps drove off the track to avoid another vehicle in the middle of the road. Police has started investigation into the matter.
Further information is expected from officials about the people who were dead and those who were wounded.
