At least 12 people died and several were injured when Russian missiles hit a section of residential areas of Kyiv, Zelenskiy posted on X, while rescuers were trying to search for a possible number of victims believed to be buried under bombed buildings.

Russian missiles hit several sections of the Ukrainian capital last night, damaging apartments and some public buildings.  Emergency services are continuing to try to recover victims from the damaged structures.

The number of people killed is believed to have increased, according to officials in Ukraine later on. The authorities in Kyiv continually order citizens to stay in basements under the bombing order.

Meanwhile, Russia said that it only bombed military and strategic buildings but Ukrainian officials claimed that the Russians are directly targeting civilians’ apartments.
