Russian strikes wound five in Kyiv, damage medical facility, mayor says
Three of five people wounded in Russian strikes on a high-rise residential building in Kyiv were hospitalized, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said Wednesday.
The attack also damaged a nearby medical facility, Klitschko said. Emergency crews and medical workers responded to the scene as authorities attempted to assess the damage.
It was not immediately clear how much damage the skyscraper had sustained. Authorities were also assessing damage to the medical facility and trying to determine if there were any other people involved.
The latest casualties and damage add to worries about the effect of Russia’s intensified strikes on civilian areas and critical infrastructure in Ukraine.
