Power supply to several Kashmir areas to remain affected on Oct 3, 4, 6

Srinagar: Power supply in several areas of Kashmir is likely to remain affected for up to six hours on October 3, 4 and 6 due to scheduled shutdowns of various 33 kV transmission lines, officials said.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), the shutdowns have been planned to facilitate maintenance work on the power infrastructure.

The 33 kV GIS Theed-Shalimar line will remain shut from 8 am to 2 pm on October 3, affecting power supply to Dewan Colony, SKUAST, Shalimar, Arabal, Tailbal and adjoining areas.

Similarly, the 33 kV Shadipora-HMT line will remain under shutdown from 8 am to 2 pm on October 3, affecting Shadipora, Trigam, Diver, Ganastan, Singhpora, Odina Migrant Colony and nearby areas.

The 33 kV Gadoora Tapline will also remain shut from 8 am to 2 pm on October 3 and 6. The affected areas include Fethapora, Gadoora, Tulbagh, Shairpathri, Kachan and adjoining areas.

Meanwhile, the scheduled shutdown of the 33 kV Awantipora-Tral-I and Awantipora-Tral-II lines on October 4 and 6, from 9 am to 3 pm, will affect power supply to Chewa, Tral Bala, Bajwani, Kahlil, Bathnoor, Hayina, Batagund, Lurgam, Wagad/Satoora, Pastona, Nanar, Taki, Lam, Jawaharpora, Aripal, Khangund, Satura, Nargistan and adjoining areas.

The shutdowns have been scheduled to carry out maintenance-related works on the concerned transmission lines.
