59-year-old engineer from Baramulla goes missing, family seeks help

Baramulla: A 59-year-old man named Er Gurmeet Singh (Sethi Veer Ji) has gone missing from the Kanth-Bagh area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district since August 25. Singh is employed as an Engineer in the R&B department in Baramulla.

According to his family, Gurmeet Singh, originally from Panzala Rafiabad, left his home around 6:30 pm to visit a nearby market but hasn’t returned since. This has raised concerns among his family members regarding his safety.

The family shared that his car was discovered abandoned in the area and his mobile phone has been turned off. This situation has caused a lot of distress for the family, and they are extremely worried about his well-being, as mentioned by one of his relatives.

The distressed family is reaching out to the public for help in locating Gurmeet Singh. They have already informed the police about the situation, and while they are doing their part, the family is urging the general public and members of the civil society to join their efforts in finding Gurmeet Ji and ensuring his safe return.

Meanwhile, police said that they have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by DSP Hqrs Baramulla to investigate the missing case.

A comprehensive search operation involving SDRF, dog squad, drone surveillance has been initiated to uncover any potential clues, police said in a statement.
