Tensions remained high for the second consecutive day in Chilkur village, Moinabad, Ranga Reddy district, Telangana, as members of the Bajrang Dal staged a protest demanding the removal of a newly erected structure at the site of a recently razed mosque, according to Hate Derector.

The Bajrang Dal initiated a ‘Chalo Moinabad’ protest after a base was laid for the reconstruction of the mosque, which had been demolished by land grabbers on Monday, July 22.

In response, police were deployed in large numbers to prevent any unrest. Protesters threatened to demolish any permanent structure being built at the site, reported Hate Derector.

The protestors only backed down after receiving assurances from local village elders that fencing was done to mark the boundary and no permanent structure was being erected

Officials from the Telangana Waqf Board, along with Muslim leaders and political party workers, have been present at the site, where the Masjid-e-Jagirdar once stood, since the morning, the report said today.

According to the Waqf Board Gazette, the Masjid-e-Jagirdar occupied an area of 480 square yards (four guntas), while the total land in Survey 133 and 134 exceeds 15 acres.
