Srinagar: The military operation against militants in the Akhal forest area of Kulgam entered its fourth day on Monday.
Two militants have been killed so far, and armed forces personnel was reportedly injured. The operation began on Friday and is still underway in a forest area.
Army helicopters, drones, and special Para forces are being used in the operation. The search area has been widened, and senior police and Army officers are keeping a close watch.
Earlier on August 3, sources told news agency KNO that this could be one of the biggest anti-militancy operations of the year.
High-tech surveillance equipment, including drones and thermal imaging devices, along with elite Para Special Forces, are taking part in the operation, officials said.
Senior police and army officials, including the DGP and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps, are closely monitoring the situation. The operation is still underway.
