Srinagar: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal joined the sangat at Gurdwara Chatti Patshahi in Srinagar on Wednesday, attending a special “Kirtan Darbar” organised to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was also present on the occasion.

Kejriwal described the occasion as “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to honour Guru Tegh Bahadur’s supreme sacrifice for religious freedom and humanity.” He urged people to follow the ninth Sikh Guru’s teachings of love, secularism and peaceful coexistence, and said the Punjab government is organising a series of commemorative events at Anandpur Sahib with participation invited from across the world.

Chief Minister Mann announced that a jathha—including Kashmiri Pandits—will travel from Srinagar to Anandpur Sahib, passing through Jammu, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Dasuya and Garhshankar before joining other groups on November 22–23. He said the convention will include kirtan, drone and light shows, and an all-faith gathering in the Guru’s memory, as reported by The Tribune.

Mann added that Guru Tegh Bahadur’s sacrifice changed the course of Indian history and continues to inspire humanity.
