Indian students evacuated from war-hit Iran, most of them from Kashmir, are currently at Dubai International Airport while travelling back to India after airport operations were temporarily suspended earlier on Monday following a drone attack that disrupted several flights, the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association said.

The connecting flight from Dubai to New Delhi is now scheduled to depart at 4:20 pm (Dubai time) and is expected to arrive at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport at around 9:18 pm.

The flight was originally scheduled to reach Delhi at 9:55 am but could not depart earlier due to disruptions caused by the drone incident at the Dubai airport.

Because of the delay, several students who were supposed to take onward connecting flights to Kashmir missed their scheduled departures. More than 60 students are expected to continue their journey to Kashmir after landing in Delhi.

However, the unavailability of fresh tickets for the day has created uncertainty regarding their onward travel.

Amid the situation, there have been calls for the administration to facilitate transport arrangements, including buses from Delhi to Kashmir, to ensure the safe return of the students after their evacuation from conflict-hit Iran.
