Skill development programme for girls in Srinagar school

Courses in computer skills, data entry and office management aim to boost employability and self-reliance among students

Srinagar: The 79 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Tuesday launched a civic action programme on skill development at Girls Higher Secondary School in Sonwar, Srinagar, aimed at empowering students with market-relevant skills.

The initiative focuses on enhancing employability among young women through training in front office operations, data entry and basic computer skills. The programme is designed to equip students with practical knowledge in communication, office management and data handling.

Speaking at the inaugural session, Commandant Sanjay Kumar highlighted the importance of skill-based education in a knowledge-driven economy and urged students to make the most of the opportunity to become self-reliant.

Joint Director of School Education, Kashmir, Mohammad Mushtaq, also addressed the gathering and stressed the relevance of such programmes in preparing students for future career opportunities.

The school’s principal and faculty welcomed the initiative and assured full cooperation for its smooth implementation.

The training will be conducted over the coming weeks by certified instructors, with a focus on hands-on learning and practical exposure.
