New Delhi: Commercial LPG cylinder prices were slashed by Rs 183.50 from Tuesday, offering relief to hotels, restaurants and other businesses, while the price of domestic cooking gas cylinders remained unchanged.

The reduction applies to 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders and took effect as part of the monthly fuel price revision by oil marketing companies (OMCs). In Delhi, the price of a commercial cylinder has been reduced to Rs 2,930 from Rs 3,113.50.

The cut marks the first reduction in commercial LPG prices this year after months of increases driven by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and elevated global energy prices, which had pushed up import costs and disrupted supplies.

The lower prices are expected to reduce operating expenses for businesses that rely heavily on commercial LPG, including hotels, restaurants, bakeries, catering services and roadside eateries.

However, there is no relief for households. The price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged across the country, meaning consumers will continue to pay the existing rates for cooking gas.

Separately, private fuel retailer Nayara Energy has reduced petrol prices by Rs 5 per litre and diesel prices by Rs 3 per litre, citing a decline in international crude oil prices.
