Srinagar: The water level in the River Jhelum and its major tributaries across Kashmir remained below warning levels on Thursday evening, indicating no immediate flood threat despite the recent spell of heavy rainfall.
According to the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, the Jhelum was flowing at 19.33 feet at Sangam against the warning level of 21 feet, 4.40 metres at Pampore against 4.5 metres, 16.78 feet at Munshibagh against 18 feet, and 9.80 feet at Asham against the warning level of 14 feet. Wullar Lake was recorded at 1575.67 metres, below its reference level of 1578 metres.
Among the tributaries, Vishow Nallah at Khudwani was flowing at 7.55 metres against the warning level of 7.75 metres, while Lidder Nallah at Batkoot stood at 1.46 metres, close to its warning level of 1.5 metres.
Rambiyara Nallah at Wachi measured 2.17 metres, and Doodhganga at Barzulla and Sindh Nallah at Doderhama were recorded at 1.38 metres and 2.68 metres, respectively, all remaining well below their respective warning thresholds.
