Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has sanctioned a ₹6.59 crore project for the conservation and upgradation of the historic Imambara in Zadibal, Srinagar.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the project is aimed at preserving the heritage character of the centuries-old Imambara while improving essential facilities for devotees and visitors.
The initiative will include structural conservation of the historic shrine as well as the enhancement of public amenities, particularly for the large number of worshippers who visit the site during major religious occasions.
Officials said the project seeks to protect the architectural heritage of the Imambara while ensuring better infrastructure and facilities for visitors.
