Several people were killed and others injured in an Israeli strike on police headquarters in Gaza City, the Palestinian Dialogue Network reported on Wednesday, as Israeli attacks continued despite a fragile ceasefire.
Details of the strike, including the exact number of casualties, were not immediately clear. Palestinian media said the attack hit the police headquarters in Gaza City, but the reports could not immediately be independently verified.
The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the reported strike.
The attack came days after Palestinian officials reported that Jamal Abu Kamil. The director of police in Gaza province, was killed in an Israeli strike targeting his vehicle in Gaza City. Several others were also reported injured in recent Israeli attacks across the territory.
Israeli strikes have repeatedly targeted police and security personnel in Gaza. In July, Palestinian officials said an Israeli attack on a police station in northern Gaza killed several officers, including the station chief. Gaza’s Interior Ministry accused Israel of deliberately targeting police in an effort to create chaos, an allegation Israel has not accepted.
The latest reported strike comes as efforts to advance a U.S.-backed plan to end the Gaza war have yet to produce a breakthrough. Israeli attacks have continued in the territory, with Palestinian medical officials reporting further civilian casualties.
