Israeli settlers damaged property in the Arraba area of the northern West Bank on Friday, according to Palestinian media, marking the latest in a series of settler attacks in the occupied territory.
Details regarding the damage and injuries from the incident in the area of Arraba, south of the city of Jenin, were not immediately available. There has been a growing number of attacks on Palestinian property, cars and farmland in the West Bank being reported.
The reported vandalism occurred in the midst of increasing settler violence. Palestinian authorities reported more than 470 settler attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank in the week before August 25, targeting homes, cars, agricultural land and olive groves, reports indicated.
Earlier in the week, settlers are also said to have hung Israeli flags on roads in the vicinity of Arraba and on roads leading to the outskirts of Ya’bad, according to local reports.
The violence has escalated in recent weeks, with rights groups and Palestinian officials warning that settlers are now attacking in more populated Palestinian areas.
