Multiple people were reportedly hurt when Saudi airstrikes struck the Khadir district of Yemen’s Taiz governorate on Tuesday, according to Houthi-run media, as fighting between the Iran-aligned group and Saudi-backed forces resumed.
The reports did not immediately say how many people were injured or provide details on the severity of the injuries.
The latest reported strikes are part of a wider escalation in Yemen. The Houthis have taken important territory along the Red Sea coast, including islands near the Bab el-Mandeb shipping route, and thousands of civilians have been displaced by the fighting renewed. While Houthi media have reported Saudi-backed airstrikes in several areas around Yemen.
