Reuters reported the package includes 20,000 MK-84 bombs and 20,000 BLU-117 bombs. The proposed sale has been informally briefed to congressional committees that oversee major US arms transfers, the State Department has not yet made any public announcements regarding .

The planned transfer comes as the United States continues to provide military support to Israel amid the war in Gaza and wider regional tensions. Similarly, Israel has used bombs weighing about 2,000 pounds each in its military actions in Gaza and Lebanon.
The Biden administration had held up shipments of some 2,000-pound bombs, citing concerns they could be used in densely populated areas of Gaza. That restriction was later lifted by back-in-office President Donald Trump.
The State Department and Israeli Embassy in Washington had not yet commented on the proposed sale, according to Reuters.
