A 51-year-old woman was killed and a 70-year-old man was injured in Russian strikes on Novomykolaivka, while 13 people were wounded across the area, Ukraine’s National Police said.
Residential buildings, cars, an ambulance and municipal transport were fired upon during the attacks, police said. It also said a shopping centre in one of the city’s districts was hit by a mortar and burned to the ground after midnight.
Ukraine’s National Police has repeatedly reported civilian casualties and destruction after Russian strikes across Zaporizhzhia and other frontline regions.
Police officers also evacuated seven people — four men and three women — from Kushugum, Balabyne and Komyshuvakha over the past day.
The National Police urged residents to leave areas of active fighting.
The latest strikes come amid ongoing Russian attacks on settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, where Ukrainian authorities have reported frequent drone, artillery and aerial attacks.
