Baramulla: Baramulla Police on Wednesday seized a double-storeyed residential house in Namblan village of Sheeri under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with a terror-related case, officials said.
According to a police spokesperson, the action was taken under Section 25 of the UAPA, 1967, in connection with FIR No. 37/2026 registered at Police Station Sheeri as part of ongoing investigations into terror networks and their support infrastructure.
The case has been registered under Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38 and 39 of the UAPA.
The attached property is a double-storeyed residential house located on Survey No. 423 at Namblan village in Sheeri, Baramulla. It belongs to Aijaz Ahmad Ganie, son of the late Mohammad Sultan Ganie.
The spokesperson said the investigation had prima facie established that the property was allegedly used to provide shelter and logistical assistance to terrorists and facilitate terrorist activities, bringing it under the relevant provisions of the UAPA.
The property was attached after the requisite approval was obtained from the Director General of Police, J&K, through Order No. 2695 of 2026 dated September 22, 2026. A public notice was also placed at the site, restricting its sale, transfer, lease, mortgage or creation of any third-party interest.
