BJP youth wing activists on Monday vandalised Congress leader Shashi Tharoor’s constituency office in Thiruvananthapuram. They smeared black oil in his office over his comment that a “Hindu Pakistan” would be created if the ruling party at the Centre returned to power.
The activists barged into the office and shouted anti-Tharoor slogans. They tied a banner, saying, ‘Hindu Pakistan’.
Tharoor wasn’t present when the incident took place, but took to twitter to shame the incident.
1/2 Today @YUVAMORCHABJP vandals attacked my constituency office in Thiruvananthapuram. They poured black engine oil on signs, doors, walls & gate, drove away innocent citizens waiting with their petitions, put up offensive banners & shouted slogans asking me to go to Pakistan.

2/2 We have all been warned. The BJP’s answer to the simple question “have you given up the dream of a Hindu Rashtra?” is apparently vandalism & violence. That is the face they have shown inThiruvananthapuram today. Most Hindus will say these Sanghi goondas do not represent us.

Earlier, while delivering a lecture on “Threats Faced by Indian Democracy and Secularism” in Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor had stated that the BJP could tear up our Constitution and replace it with one that enshrines the principles of the “Hindu Rashtra”, that would pave the way for the creation of a “Hindu Pakistan”. The BJP demanded an apology from Rahul for the “attack on Indian democracy and Hindus”.
“The BJP wants Rahul to apologise for Tharoor’s remarks. But one needs to understand that Tharoor is only speaking on the language of the BJP,” the Sena said.
