Anantnag: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said that her government will resume talks with stone pelters and try to resolve their issues.
The CM’s statement comes days after three youths were killed by government forces near an encounter site in Chadoora.
Mehbooba while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event at Anantnag said, “The process to talk to stone pelters that got stopped in the past will be resumed again and the government will try to resolve issues confronting youth.” She further added that the government will try to find a route to secure their future.
“The Government would engage youth involved in stone-pelting and will also look into FIR’s registered against them. Our youth are outstanding in education and sports but they are trapped in such an atmosphere which has ruined them. We will try to pull them out from this situation and will find a route to secure their future,” she added.
