Sabzar Killing Backlash: Amid shutdown, strict restrictions continue in Valley
‘the admit cards of the candidates appearing for J&K Civil Service (Judicial) Competitive Examination-2017 and identity cards of invigilators shall be treated as curfew passes in case of restrictions’
Srinagar: The J&K Government imposed strict restrictions in seven (7) police stations of summer capital and other places including Anantnag district on Tuesday in view of the prevailing situation while as Kashmir Valley is observing a complete shutdown on second consecutive day against the killing of top Hizb commander, Sabzar Ahmad Bhat.
Sabzar died fighting armed forces along with a teenage militant, Faizan Muzaffar Bhat, on Saturday morning in Saimoo village of Tral in Pulwama district.
Following the death of two Hizb militants, one civilian was killed in forces action while as sixty others were injured during protests on Saturday.
The Joint resistance leadership called for a two-day shutdown on Sunday and Monday and asked people to reach Tral on Tuesday.
While as people observed a complete shutdown on Sunday, the authorities imposed strict curfew in Srinagar anfd other places across Kashmir.
On late Sunday evening, the District Magistrate Srinagar issued a statement saying that in view of the prevailing law and order situation, strict restrictions will remain imposed tomorrow on 29 May, 2017 within the territorial jurisdiction of seven police stations of Srinagar district, including Khanyar, Nowhatta, Safakadal, M R Gunj, Rainawari, Kralkhud, Maisuma.
It is further ordered that all the colleges and schools in District Srinagar will also remain closed on May 29, 2107.
In another statement, District Magistrate Anantnag said that strict restrictions would be in place in the territorial jurisdiction of the district tomorrow on 29 May, 2017 to prevent breach of peace and loss of life in view of the prevailing law and order situation.
Meanwhile, the district administration has also setup helpline services with 9596777669, 9419047052 and 9419367252 for the convenience of the people.
The government spokesperson further said that the admit cards of the candidates appearing for J&K Civil Service (Judicial) Competitive Examination-2017 and identity cards of invigilators shall be treated as curfew passes in case of restrictions.
Meanwhile, the examination centre set up in the Gandhi Memorial College, Shamaswari, Srinagar for the said examination has been shifted to J&K Public Service Commission Examination Hall, Solina, Srinagar.
“Therefore, the candidates who have been allotted examination centre at Gandhi Memorial College, Shamaswari, Srinagar shall report at J&K Public Service Commission Examination Hall, Solina, Srinagar for appearing in the said examination from 29.05.2017 onwards,” the spokesperson quoting divisional commissioner Kashmir as having said.
