Sabzar Killing Backlash: ‘Situation peaceful, under control,’ say police

Srinagar: J&K Police on Monday said that the situation in Kashmir remained “peaceful and under control” following the death of two Hizb ul Mujahideen militants on Saturday in Tral.

“Situation remained peaceful and under control throughout Kashmir valley. Though a stray stone pelting incident was reported from Tahab in Pulwama,” J&K Police spokesperson said in a statement. “No injury was reported till filing of this report.”

“A group of miscreants pelted stones on 182 CRPF Camp at Tahab. Police and security forces used maximum restraint and chased them away,” the spokesperson said.

“However, restrictions under section 144 CrPC remained imposed in some vulnerable areas of the valley to thwart any untoward incident,” the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, JKP spokesperson said that a minor boy died while another person was injured in two separate road accidents in Budgam and Kargil.

Giving details, the spokesperson said that a Tata Mobile Vehicle bearing registration number JK05D-1545 hit and critically injured a 4 year old child identified as Asrar Ahmad Teli, son of Showkat Ahmad Teli, a resident of New Colony, Bun Maqhama at Radbugh, Magam in district Budgam.

The injured was shifted to Sub-District Hospital Magam where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, a 407 vehicle bearing registration number JK01N-0588 met with an accident on Highway near village Chowkiyal, Drass in Kargil, resulting in injuries to a passenger identified as Arshid Hussain, son of Ghulam Hassan, a resident of Baramulla.

The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
