Will keep a ‘close watch’ on politicians who will oppose GST during the session: Jammu Chamber

Srinagar: The Jammu Chamber in a meeting has welcomed the Government’s decision to hold a special assembly session for the smooth implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the state.

In the meeting, President of the Jammu Chamber Rakesh Gupta said that a ‘close watch’ will be kept on politicians who want to plunge the state into an economic crisis by opposing GST.

“The Chamber unanimously welcomed the decision of the government   to call for a Special State Assembly session for smooth and early implementation of GST. It was discussed and decided to keep close watch on special assembly session and identify the politicians who are hell-bent upon plunging the state into economic crises and threatening the livelihood of lakhs of traders and industrialists,” read a statement of the Chamber.

The statement further added, “It was unanimously decided that any politician who opposes the implementation of GST irrespective of the political party shall not be spared for his illogical and unjust stand.’

The Chamber President assured all the presidents and secretaries of the associations that GST shall be implemented in the state in next few days.
