Mehbooba, Omar are ‘Sadiq and Jaffar’ of today’s Kashmir: Rasheed

‘Mufti, Sheikh Dynasties responsible for the miseries of Kashmiris’

‘Leader of the house and opposition didn’t utter a word regarding GST in the house’

‘Resistance leaders should not downplay GST as it erodes state’s autonomy’

‘China has cornered India in NE, why no bullets being fired’

Srinagar: Independent lawmaker Engineer Rasheed on Friday in the Assembly said that both the leader of the house (Mehbooba Mufti) and the leader of opposition (Omar Abdullah) didn’t utter a word regarding the Goods and Services Tax (GST) during the four day special session.

The outspoken lawmaker, who calls for a plebiscite in the state, stressed that Mufti and Sheikh dynasties are responsible for the miseries of Kashmiris.

While pointing towards the Chief Minister, Rasheed said that the only words you (CM) spoke was the apology tendered regarding Minister Ansari’s lynching comments hurled at National Conference legislator Devender Rana.

Rasheed while addressing the speaker Kavinder Gupta as ‘Sadr-e-Riyasat’ said that too many resolutions have been passed in this house however everyone knows what happens to them later on.

“The only thing you spoke about in 2 days was that you apologized for Ansari’s comments. You didn’t even speak a word regarding the GST. Whatever Drabu Sahab said, you should have said that,” Rashid told CM Mehbooba.

He added, “More than you, I am disappointed with Omar Abdullah. Talking about the issue outside the Legislature is not going to help. The first day, he didn’t come. On the second day, he sat in the house like a statue and then preferred to shoot a tweet from some unknown destination to oppose GST. He needs to learn that if New Delhi doesn’t listen to UN resolutions and the huge sacrifices of Kashmiris, why would anybody give a damn to Omar Abdullah’s tweets.”

He pointed out that the family from which Omar comes had a ‘big’ role to play in the ‘making’ as well as ‘destroying’ Kashmir.

“The Sheikh dynasty has done a lot for Kashmir. I do acknowledge that. They are also responsible for the mess we are in.”

He further added that the silence of Mehbooba and Omar on GST has exposed them.

“Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti stand unmasked and it is proven that they are Mir Jaffars and Mir Sadiqs of today’s Kashmir,” Rasheed said.

While walking out of the Assembly, Rasheed again addressed the CM and told her that she is fulfilling the ‘unfinished agenda’ of the Sheikh dynasty.

“You are fulfilling the unfinished agenda of Sheikh Dynasty whose main objective is to bury the sentiments, sacrifices, rights and aspirations of people of J&K,” he said.

While addressing the members of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rasheed questioned their ‘self-respect and patriotism’ which it comes to India’s standoff with China in the North East.

“Where is your self-respect and patriotism as China has cornered India in north east and why don’t you dare to fire even a single bullet from this side,” Rasheed asked.

While appealing to the resistance leaders, he asked not to downplay the GST issue as it erodes the autonomy of the state.

“We have no reason to doubt the sincerity of Resistance leadership but they should not downplay any such move that erodes the autonomy and in the long run helps New Delhi in diluting the disputed nature of J&K. Nobody can pass the buck by calling very basic issues as non-issue,” he said.
