Lashkar commander Ayub Lelhari killed in a gunfight

Srinagar: Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Ayub Lelhari was killed in a gunfight with Indian Armed forces in Banderpora village of Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Wednesday, police said.

A policeman was also injured in the firefight, said DIG South Kashmir.

“Ayub Lelhari District Commander LeT killed in #Pulwama.Yet another success in fight against militancy,” tweeted Jammu and Kashmir Police.

SSP Pulwama Chowdhary Aslam said the gunfight has ended. “Encounter is over. One militant has been killed,” he said.
