NIA raids the residence of Hurriyat leader Agha Syed Hassan at Budgam

Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday raided the residence of Hurriyat (G) leader Agha Syed Hassan in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

The raid was carried a day after Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) announced a march to NIA headquarter in Delhi where they will court arrest. This was mentioned in a presser addressed by the Resistance Leadership.

The JRL of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik addressed an ‘important’ Press Conference at Jamia Masjid, Nowhatta, Srinagar, regarding the arrests made by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), on Wednesday at 1.00pm.

Reports said that NIA sleuths accompanied by policemen raided the house of Agha, who is also head of Anjuman-e-Sharie-Shiaan, early morning.

Seven resistance leaders, a businessman and a youth, including a photojournalist, have so far been arrested by the central probe agency in a funding case.

The NIA on Wednesday arrested two alleged stone pelters including a freelance photo-journalist for allegedly indulging in stone pelting and mobilising support against security personnel through the social media on Tuesday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Javed Ahmad Bhat from south Kashmir’s Kulgam district and Kamran Yousuf from Pulwama district, also in south Kashmir.

Aga Syed Hasan was also present at the occasion, and was present beside the duo throughout the presser outside the mosque.
