Rajnath’s JK visit: ‘Whoever comes to me, I will talk to him’

Srinagar: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who is arriving on a four-day visit starting from Saturday, is all set to take the review of the security situation in the state.

Singh will meet Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Governor NN Vohra before taking review of “Operation all-out”, which was launched by forces in Kashmir valley against the militants.

Officials said the visiting minister will review the overall security situation in Kashmir vis-a-vis rise in the attempts of infiltration from across the LoC.

Singh according to the officials will be accompanied by the Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and senior officers of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

He will also review Prime Minister’s Development Package in the state.

A BJP leader told KNS that the home minister will meet various delegations of civil society and political leaders besides interact with J&K Police, CRPF and BSF officials in the state.

“The main aim of the Home Minister’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir is to review the security situation and will take feedback on operation all out which was earlier this year established by the Modi led government,” an top official in security establishment told KNS.

According to sources, the Home Minister will meet the BJP leaders separately in order to see the party progress in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and in addition to that he will also visit to frontier districts with top Army officials including the GoC 15 corps.

He added that the government had all intentions to solve the Kashmir issue.

Meanwhile in New Delhi Rajnath Singh said that while the government was ready to discuss the Jammu and Kashmir issue with all stakeholders, he would talk to anyone who comes to meet him during his visit to the state.

“I personally want that we talk to everyone. So whoever comes to meet me, I will talk to them,” Rajnath said, adding that the government had all intentions to solve the Kashmir issue.

Earlier, the union Home Minister had assured that the security forces were working towards completely eliminating Pakistan-sponsored terror from Kashmir.

He had said that the government of India assures you that we will uproot Pakistan-sponsored terror from Jammu and Kashmir and establish peace there.

Singh had also said that after surgical strikes, there had been a decrease of 45 per cent in infiltration from Pakistan.
