Srinagar: One policeman was killed in heavy firing at the Islamabad bus stand in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday evening, reported ANI.
Meanwhile, two other policemen were reported injured. The incident took place when militants attacked a police party at a bus-stand in Jammu and Kashmir’s Islamabad.
As per CNN-News 18, heavy firing is still going on in Islamabad. The attack reportedly took place just 500 metres away from the venue of Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s meeting which is scheduled for tomorrow.
This was the third militant activity of the day in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports said that the militants fired indiscriminately on the police party.
The slain policeman as has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad who was working as a constable and the injured as Shabir Ahmad, a report in Kashmir Life, a weekly magazine based in Srinagar, said.
