Gang-raped for 10 days, UP teenager forced to eat meat: Police

Accused exerted pressure to force her into changing her religion, says the victim

Muzaffarnagar: A 16-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar has filed a police complaint alleging that four youths abducted her and then gang-raped her for 10 days.

The teenager also alleged that after keeping her in captivity, she was forced to eat meat and that the accused also made efforts to pressurize her into changing her religion.

“The girl has filed an FIR against four youths — Akram, Aslam, Ayyub and Salim — for gang-raping for about 10 days,” said Mohammad Rizwan, circle officer in Bhopa, reported Hindustan Times.

According to the Police, the girl narrated to them that she had started for Muzaffarnagar to meet her relatives there on September 6.

The teenager added that as she was waiting for a bus at the village bus stand, the four accused youths, who were also going to Muzaffarnagar in their car, offered her a lift. The girl accepted the offer as the youths were known to her.

As soon as she entered the car, the youths allegedly pointed a gun at her and covered her eyes with a black strip, reported the Hindustan Times.

According to the police complaint filed by the girl and her family, the four accused youths would take her to different places and rape her.

The Hindustan Times reported that during her confinement, the teen girl said that the youths made her consume meat. They even exerted pressure on her to change her religion.

The police said that the teenager was set free on September 16 near the Ganga canal bridge on the village outskirts, and threatened her with dire consequences if she informed the police.

However, the girl shared her ordeal with her parents who then informed the police.

On the basis of the FIR, a case has been registered against the four accused under sections of the Indian Penal Code and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.

According to the police, raids are being conducted to apprehend the accused.

Reports said that activists from some Hindu organisations and local BJP leaders visited the Bhopa police station and demanded the immediate arrest of all the accused.
