A woman from the locality claimed to have caught hold of a guy hiding in her compound.

“First time, I didn’t find anyone but the second time, I found a 19-20 year old boy trying to hide,” she added.

She further claimed that the boy threatened to kill her, and cut her hair.

“He threatened to kill me. He even started to abuse me. He asked me for my jewelry, but when I didn’t give it, he threatened to cut my hair too,” she said, while speaking to the Free Press Kashmir.

After this, she ‘raised some hue and cry’, on hearing which, people around came to the spot and thrashed the guy.

However, after a few minutes, the police reached the spot and took him to the local Police station.

The accused in the police station talked to a reported from the FreePressKashmir and told her that he was a baker and worked at Jehangir Bakers at Baramulla.

The accused, whose name is Ather Maqbool Magrey, S/O Mohammed Maqbool Magrey, R/O Pinjura Magam had flour on his clothes.

His parents, who had reached the Police station were crying. They said that he is innocent and wouldn’t do anything like that.

He was carrying an electric hair trimmer with him, and claimed to have been searching the spot for some ‘charas’ (marijuana).

The residence doesn’t have a concrete wall, but a steel boundary.
