After Gurez visit, Modi says forces protecting motherland with utmost valour

Srinagar: After visiting Gurez Sector along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate Diwali with forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that the forces protect the motherland with utmost valour.

“Our forces protect our motherland with utmost valour, displaying highest traditions of sacrifice and dedication,” Modi tweeted.

He added, “Spending time with our forces gives me new energy.”

“Happy to know that the Jawans practice Yoga regularly,” said another tweet of Modi.

In his three tweets, Modi expressed gladness for celebrating the festival with the forces. “Glad to have celebrated Diwali with our brave Army and BSF Jawans in the Gurez Valley, Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Modi was joined by Army Chief General Bipin Rawat who was camping in the Gurez sector since Wednesday.

Pertinently, Modi has been celebrating Diwali with forces every year after he took over as the Prime Minister of India.

In 2014, he celebrated Diwali with forces at Siachen. In 2015, Modi celebrated Diwali with forces in Amritsar at Dogra war memorial.

In 2016, Modi celebrated Diwali with ITBP forces in Himachal Pradesh.
