Yasin Malik reaches Shopian to express solidarity with family of slain civilian

‘Killing innocents under grab of encounters is uncovering the brutal face of Indian Democracy in Kashmir’

Srinagar: JKLF chairman Yasin Malik, along with a delegation, reached Shopian on Thursday, to visit the family of civilian Rubeena killed in South Kashmiri’s Shopian district, on Tuesday, during a gunfight in which two militants were also killed.

Rubeena Jan, daughter of Abdul Rashid was hit by a bullet in her abdomen. She was shifted to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

The delegation also went to the house of the slain militant Tanveer Ahmad, who was killed in a gunfight with the Armed Forces.

Addressing a gathering at Batmoran Shopian Malik said, “Killing innocents under the garb of encounters and putting properties to flames, not even sparing cattle is uncovering the brutal face of Indian democracy in Kashmir.”

Malik added, “International community should see the truth behind Indian democracy in Jammu and Kashmir. Indian forces have gone berserk in Kashmir and are killing humans with impunity but the international community which always champions the cause of human rights is maintaining a criminal silence on this and is, in fact, abetting Indian aggression on innocent Kashmiris.”

Yasin Mallik reached Shopian along with the Zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Zonal Organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, District President, Pulwama, Javed Ahmad Butt and others.
