India, Iran hold ‘substantive’ talks, sign nine pacts
New Delhi: After ‘substantive’ talks Narendra Modi and Iranina President Hassan Rouhani, in order to boost cooperation between India and Iran in key affairs of security, trade and energy inked nine pacts.
One of the nine also included a pact for avoidance of double taxation.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Raveesh Kumar in a tweet listed the areas which were discussed by both leaders.
The two leaders also deliberated on regional situations during their wide-ranging talks.

Addressing a joint presser with Rouhani, Modi said the visit by the Iranian president shows how the two sides want to deepen cooperation in key areas, including connectivity. Giving details of their comprehensive talks, Modi said they discussed threats posed by terrorism, drug trafficking and other challenges.
On his part, Rouhani said, “We are determined to combat terrorism and extremism.”
