Srinagar: In the ongoing Kupwara gun fight, a Special Operations Group cop was wounded after sustaining a bullet injury in his leg on Wednesday.
According to the news agency GNS, the SOG man has been identified as Javid Ahmad.
Meanwhile, the Army, last night claimed that bodies of three militants have been recovered from the site of the gun fight. Intermittent firing was reported during the night. In the morning, however, the firing intensified and in the process Ahmad was injured.
The slain militants are believed to be part of a group of six militants against whom the operation was launched but suspended in the evening because of darkness and difficult terrain.
On Tuesday, an army spokesman claimed that four militants were killed in the ongoing gunfight.
